Artist's Description

The American Goldfinch (Spinus tristis) is a year round resident in Connecticut. During the summer, they can be seen clinging to the stems of flowers in the garden, as they pluck the seeds out of the blossoms. The wild Black-eyed Susans seem to be a favorite! The American Goldfinch is the state bird of New Jersey, Iowa, and Washington.
