This House Wren (Troglodytes aedon) and its mate made a nest on the front porch of our house in Connecticut. Once the eggs hatched, both parents endured a daily routine of catching one insect after another, all day long, to feed their young. The insects got larger as the babies grew. It never ceases to amaze me how fast the little hatchlings grow up. In about three weeks, they fledged, leaving their porch nest empty until next year.
I purchased my first SLR, a 1970 Nikon FTN, when I was in High School. I studied both science and art in college, and although I pursued science and technology management as a career, artwork has remained a driving passion for me. Nature photography allows me to combine a love for nature, biology, and art. I'm very fortunate to live in a rural area where I can photograph horses, gardens, and wildlife.
