This is a white tailed deer (Odocoileus virginianus) fawn photographed in August in Connecticut. This baby must be almost three months old at the time of this photograph, and now follows his mother everywhere as she shows him where the goodies are in the garden.

I purchased my first SLR, a 1970 Nikon FTN, when I was in High School. I studied both science and art in college, and although I pursued science and technology management as a career, artwork has remained a driving passion for me. Nature photography allows me to combine a love for nature, biology, and art. I'm very fortunate to live in a rural area where I can photograph horses, gardens, and wildlife.
