This photograph appears to have captured a pair of Eastern Bluebirds (Sialia sialis) lecturing their son about his latest antics, as he casts a downward gaze. All humor aside, these three are actually siblings who fledged from a nearby birdhouse this past summer. Their mother is perched below, vocalizing to her young. After not seeing this family in our yard for many weeks, they've returned to check out the accommodations in advance of the winter weather.
