Artist's Description
I think this butterfly is a Clouded Sulphur (Colias philodice), but it's possible that it is one of the another variety of sulphurs. We have quite a few of these in our yard in Connecticut this Fall.
I followed this little butterfly around the yard, trying to catch an unusual pose of this sulphur with it's wings open. No such luck. What was a bit different, though, was watching a bee chase the butterfly away from it's dandelion blossom over and over. The bee is in the lower right of this photograph.
About Amy Porter

I purchased my first SLR, a 1970 Nikon FTN, when I was in High School. I studied both science and art in college, and although I pursued science and technology management as a career, artwork has remained a driving passion for me.
