This photograph tied for second place in the "Beauty in Art" group's contest "Focus on Flowers" in August 2016. It also won third place out of 660 entries in the "Let's See Some Flowers" contest on FAA February 2015.
About Amy Porter
I purchased my first SLR, a 1970 Nikon FTN, when I was in High School. I studied both science and art in college, and although I pursued science and technology management as a career, artwork has remained a driving passion for me. Nature photography allows me to combine a love for nature, biology, and art. I'm very fortunate to live in a rural area where I can photograph horses, gardens, and wildlife. About 19 years ago, I converted to digital, and now use a Nikon D500.
