Description
This beautiful female bobcat (Lynx rufus) was in the field behind our house in Connecticut with her two almost grown kittens. Bobcats are nocturnal, so seeing them is quite a treat. She seemed to be eyeing the bird feeders, and the squirrels that usually dominate the feeders in the morning were nowhere to be seen.

Wow! I can feel his intent thousands of miles away. These marvellous creatures live around me, yet I have never seen one in the wild. A great capture Amy. L/F
Amy Porter replied:
Many thanks, Joy, for your wonderful comments, like, and fave! We've lived in this house for 14 years, and this was the first time I've seen a bobcat in the yard. They are nocturnal, so they probably see us even though we don't see them! :-)

Amy---this is great---I have only seen one in the daytime---and I did not have the telephoto with me at the time---thanks for the info. lvf
Amy Porter replied:
Thank you very much, Nava! I appreciate your great comments, like and fave! It was pure luck that I saw these bobcats from my office window and somehow made it outside with my camera/tripod while they were still here. I'm still excited to have seen them! :-)

Really nice shot. As compelling as her face is, my eyes also went to her bobbed tail. Wonderful
Amy Porter replied:
Thanks very much for your great comments, Marie! I feel lucky to have caught her bobbed tail flicking into view for this photo.
