Description
This is an American bumble bee (Bombus pennsylvanicus) photographed in Connecticut, USA. These friendly bees are essential pollinators that benefit plants and are not harmful to people. I have found them easy to photograph, as they are so focused on going from flower to flower in search of pollen, they don't seem to mind having a camera lens right up next to them.
