The male Eastern Tiger Swallowtails have only a little bit of blue on their wings, while the females of this species are more colorful, having many diffuse, turquoise blue spots. This male is sipping nectar from a butterfly bush (Buddleia davidii) on a warm August afternoon in Connecticut.
