Description
This is a Snowberry clearwing (Hemaris diffinis), one of the four species of hummingbird moth. Although the Snowberry clearwing is more common in the Western USA, we do have them here on our farm in Connecticut. They can be seen sipping nectar from the same flowers that attract butterflies, such as the buddleia, butterfly bush.
