Artist's Description
This is a male Eastern Bluebird (Sialia sialis) photographed in Connecticut. If you watch bluebirds while they hunt for insects, you may be lucky enough to see one of them hovering above the ground just before diving down to catch the insect.
About Amy Porter
I purchased my first SLR, a 1970 Nikon FTN, when I was in High School. I studied both science and art in college, and although I pursued science and technology management as a career, artwork has remained a driving passion for me. Nature photography allows me to combine a love for nature, biology, and art. I'm very fortunate to live in a rural area where I can photograph horses, gardens, and wildlife. About 19 years ago, I converted to digital, and now use a Nikon D500.
