Description
Autumn is a great time for watching Eastern Bluebirds (Sialia sialis) in New England. They very actively explore all of the available bird houses, often fighting off other birds in the process. If we're lucky, this pair will return to this box in a few months to begin nest building.
This photograph won first place in the "Motion in Art" contest to become the June Logo for the group on FAA. It also tied for third place in the "Outdoor Birdhouses" contest on FAA in April 2017 and the June logo contest for the "No Place Like Home" group in May 2016. Many thanks to all those who voted!

Many thanks, Donna, for your great comments and fave! I love the bluebirds, too! On a cloudy morning such as the one on which this photo was taken, their feathers actually seem to glow in an intense blue color.
