Description
This pair of American Tree Swallows (Spizella aborea) were performing a courtship dance on the wing. Each Spring, we are fortunate to have several pairs nesting in boxes in the open field around our pond in Connecticut. Swallows eat insects, and with the help of the tree swallows and barn swallows, we have almost no mosquitos all summer.
