These twin white-tailed deer fawns (Odocoileus virginianus) were about 2.5 months old when this photograph was taken in August in Connecticut. By this time, they were pretty confident and could often be seen grazing or frolicking far across the field from their mother.

I purchased my first SLR, a 1970 Nikon FTN, when I was in High School. I studied both science and art in college, and although I pursued science and technology management as a career, artwork has remained a driving passion for me. Nature photography allows me to combine a love for nature, biology, and art. I'm very fortunate to live in a rural area where I can photograph horses, gardens, and wildlife.
