Description
This is an Eastern Tiger Swallowtail who has lost one of her "tails." Perhaps she had a narrow escape from the jaws of a hungry bird. The females of this species have pronounced blue chevrons on the hind wing, and come in both a yellow and a black variety. The males have darker black stripes and only a tiny amount of blue.
