Description
This cute little chickadee (Poecile atricapillus) is waiting for his turn to pick up a seed at the feeder. They love black oil sunflower seeds. Chickadees will pick up one at a time and retreat to a favorite branch, where they hold the seed with their feet while they hammer a hole in the shell with their beak to get at the sunflower heart inside.
This photograph won third place in the "Birds of Sylvioidea" contest on FAA in November, 2016.

Wonderful photo, very sharp and with nice light. I like the alignment of the Chickadee with the branch it's perched on.
Amy Porter replied:
Many thanks, Morris! We have a lot of chickadees, but they don't often sit still long enough to catch a pose! :-)
