Artist's Description
These twin white tailed deer fawns (Odocoileus virginianus) were out romping around the meadow, and stood stll just long enough for a photograph. Photographed in Connecticut on July 1, these fawns are probably about a month old. This photograph won first place in the FAA contests, "Animals in Summer" and the group logo for "Our 4-Legged Friends," both in July 2017. It also won second place in the contest, “It’s the Little Things,” in June 2018. Many thanks to those who voted!
About Amy Porter
I purchased my first SLR, a 1970 Nikon FTN, when I was in High School. I studied both science and art in college, and although I pursued science and technology management as a career, artwork has remained a driving passion for me. Nature photography allows me to combine a love for nature, biology, and art. I'm very fortunate to live in a rural area where I can photograph horses, gardens, and wildlife. About 19 years ago, I converted to digital, and now use a Nikon D500.
